Dr. Warne presented at the
White House Rural Council meeting on Rural Child Poverty in conjunction with
the National Association of Counties. While in DC, he was able to meet
with US Senator Heidi Heitkamp (ND) and with Deputy Secretary of Health and
Human Services Dr. Mary Wakefield (also from ND!). It was a good couple
days in DC and NDSU public health programs are well-represented and supported
at the highest levels of government.
